Getting to Know Your Photographer

Uncategorized

July 15, 2014

Hiring a wedding photographer is a huge commitment. I’m realizing that more now as I search for the perfect person to capture my own special day. You don’t want just anyone. You want someone you can trust to capture the mood, emotions, and atmosphere of your wedding, as well as the carefully thought out details of your day. You want someone who gets you and your specific needs for your photography. Most importantly, you want someone who is passionate about what they do, and who will go above and beyond to get exactly what you want.

Speaking from someone who has been tirelessly searching for her own wedding photographer, it’s hard to really get to know what someone is like simply by looking at their “about me” section on their website. It is important to me that my potential clients get a little bit more familiar with my life and why I love what I do. Here are a few things about me (with some help from Instagram pictures):

On June 6, 2015, I will be Mrs. Timmons and wife to my absolute best friend. Jeremy and I met during my sophomore year of college at the, can you believe it, Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina. After realizing that we lived in the same county (five hours from where we met), we began hanging out and before I knew it, he was down on one knee asking me to be his wife (I’m still squealing months after his proposal)!

Jeremy has always been my biggest fan, and has always encouraged me to do what I love. Even when I lose all motivation (which, yes, happens more often than I’d like to admit), he knows just what to say to get me right back on track. It’s people like him who make me realize just how passionate I am about my photography and keep me encouraged to do my best.

So that’s my love story, but what I’m interested in, is learning about yours. As a wedding photographer, I love hearing everybody’s unique story of how they met and fell in love, and even more, I love capturing it with my photography!

Nothing is better than starting my day off with a cup of coffee and reading my Bible. My faith is the most important thing in my life, and is a source of constant encouragement and comfort for me. I am so excited that I have this amazing God-given talent that I can share with others, and that’s what keeps me motivated with my work.

“Not to us, Lord, not to us but to Your name be the glory” – Psalm 115:1

 The perfect morning!

I’m incredibly observant and tend to see the beauty in everything, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant. Being a photographer, this comes in handy. All of those things, those small details, that may otherwise be overlooked, that is what I’m drawn to and what I aim to capture through my photography.

I’ve always been a bit of an oddball. I am constantly cracking jokes and love making other people laugh. When I’m doing a photo shoot, it’s always important for me to make sure my clients feel comfortable in front of the camera, and that’s usually when my stupid jokes come out (please, just laugh at them anyways). All of my clients have great personalities, and I want to capture them within my photos. I love having fun and just letting loose!
