Dustin + Lindsay Gardner | Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | Downtown Pittsburgh + Eclectic Farm Wedding

Wedding

August 24, 2017

I knew Lindsay back when I was just an awkward little middle schooler. Her younger sister, Kate, and I were good friends and our moms used to teach together. Lindsay reached out to me after she and Dustin got engaged, and I was so excited to be able to reconnect with her, hear about her upcoming wedding, and have the opportunity to capture such a special day for her and Dustin! I learned that she had moved up to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she met and fell in love with Dustin. I was lucky enough to have them both in North Carolina for their engagement shoot, where I got to really know the amazing couple that they are! These two love to have fun and laugh, and have a shared love for their sweet pit pull pup, and all things food and Vans! It was such a treat having them in front of my camera and I was so excited for their wedding and to photograph them once more!

As soon as I arrived in Pittsburgh the night before Dustin and Lindsay’s big day, I immediately knew that the nine hour drive was well worth it! I could see why they chose this for their home and the place where they would promise their lives to each other. Their wedding day brought the most beautiful weather, with clear blue skies, mid-70 degree weather, and a breeze. Dustin and Lindsay were married overlooking the lush green Pennsylvania mountains, surrounded by all of their friends and family, in one of the most beautiful and emotional ceremonies. Lindsay’s father passed away many years ago, but his legacy was far from forgotten on her and Dustin’s special day. During his life, he was a helicopter pilot for a hospital operating out of Pittsburgh, and the farm where Lindsay and Dustin were married just so happened to be on the route map for those helicopters. I’ll never forget the look Lindsay and her sister gave each other during the ceremony, through tears and laughter, every time one would fly over their heads. It was as if their dad was sending that sweet little reminder to them that he was there with them.

Dustin and Lindsay’s day was filled with so much joy and everything came together so beautifully. I loved every bit about their day, but especially getting to capture all of these beautiful moments for such a sweet couple. Dustin and Lindsay, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for choosing me to capture your beautiful wedding day and for allowing me to share your story with others! I wish you both all the best as you embark on this new and exciting chapter in your lives as husband and wife! Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Gardner!
