One of the greatest honors you can be granted as a wedding photographer is having another wedding photographer ask you to take their photos. So when Colleen approached me about taking her engagement photos, I was beyond thrilled! Colleen and I met back in college (she was actually the one who taught me the basics of studio photography when she was my assigned studio technician my junior year), and she has become one of my dearest friends ever since! Many of you might even recognize her as my second photographer for most of my weddings! She is one of the sweetest and silliest people you will ever meet, and Ryan is kind and cares so deeply for Colleen. I have loved getting to watch them together and am so excited to stand alongside them as they promise their lives to each other next April!
Colleen knows I’m not a morning person (even with copious amounts of coffee in my system), but she somehow convinced me to wake up before the sun and do a sunrise engagement session at the beautiful Eno River State Park in Durham. I must say now, having done my first sunrise session, I am a fan! The mist over the river and the glow of the leaves as the sun rose was enough to convince me to do sunrise engagement sessions all of the time! I had a blast with Colleen and Ryan, and loved capturing their sweet love on camera. I cannot wait until their wedding next year!
